A Workplace Assessment is a consultation with the Employer, the Worker and WWN to identify suitable duties. The assessment considers the suitability of a workplace and tasks and the workers capacity to work, identifies potential barriers and offers recommendations on overcoming barriers and future rehabilitation needs. Identified Suitable Duties enable a safe and graduated return to work that assists a worker to improve their functional capacity with a goal to return to preinjury duties.
Suitable duties are tasks that an injured worker can perform at work without aggravating an injury. A Suitable Duties Plan maps out timeframes, duties and restrictions to be approved by medical providers. Suitable duties plans are important as they thoroughly explain to both parties not only the process but also consider any precautionary restrictions that may apply to returning to work. They also outline what is expected from both the employee and the employer so that everyone has a clear path forward. During a Suitable Duties Plan, WWN will monitor your worker and their progress with treatment professionals to ensure a successful, graduated return to full duties.
WWN collaborates with WorkCover, treating practitioners and medical specialists to ensure optimal treatment progress and safe return to work outcomes. WWN can support workers and insurers on appropriate, evidence-based recommendations to further improve a worker’s function and capacity to work.
A Functional Capacity Evaluation is an assessment containing a series of tests to determine a worker’s physical ability to meet the functional demands associated with their pre- injury role, thus assisting them with their recovery and or return to work. These evaluations match the worker’s physical abilities to the critical demands of the job requirements that are needed to be met.
